'Dead End' is a gripping short film shot entirely in two days using cutting-edge in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) technology. The story follows two strangers stranded in a remote canyon after their car breaks down in a vast, desolate desert. Featuring a car as the central prop and utilizing a seamless blend of photorealistic virtual environments, including a canyon and desert, and practical on-set elements, 'Dead End' creates an intense, immersive narrative of survival and unexpected encounters. The efficient use of ICVFX allowed for a rapid production schedule while delivering visually stunning and emotionally compelling storytelling.
"Dead End" presents a post-apocalyptic vision of Singapore through the eyes of Jax and Ben, two friends with contrasting approaches to problem-solving, who irritate the hell out of each other but also compliment each other. Along the way, they face various challenges and obstacles that will test their resolve and their bond. It was a fantastic opportunity to actually make this happen using virtual productions. You've never seen Singapore in this world ending state. With VP, Sci fi is now a genre that is more accessible to filmmakers and I can't wait to show you this film!
